Methoden der EDV-gestützten, dreidimensionalen Lagerstättenmodellierung am Beispiel ausgewählter Bauxitvorkommen

Before the background of a resource-sensitive production and the optimization of metallic raw material flows, this study presents a systematic and uniform methodology to realize the computer-aided three-dimensional modeling of bauxite deposits by use of the exploration and mining Software DATAMINETM. The developed methodology of the computer-aided orebody modeling exists of four stages, by name first the conceptual model, second the geometrical model, third the property model and fourth the geological model of the deposit. This final stage combines the results of all previous stages. This methods are developed and applied especially for the two main types of bauxite deposits: lateritic and karst bauxite deposits. The selected sites are Kirkvine (Jamaica), Parnasse (Greece) and Los Pijiguaos (Venezuela). The geological models of these bauxite deposits respectively the selected ore bodies give detailed information about the orebody geometry, the reserve quantity, ore quality and grade distribution within the deposits. The combination of these properties of an ore deposit by an integrative computer model are the essential features for the optimization of the mining process and also the pre and post mining processes like the exploration and land reclamation. For that reason it is the base for a resource-sensitive use of bauxite and also the first part of the optimization of raw material flows.
