Führung von Produktionsnetzwerken

Motivated by the ongoing discussion concerining the guidance and control of enterprise networks of interorganizational collaborations the thesis deals with the research question of what dimensions of management are mandatory for the creation, control and evolution of guided enterprise networks. Against this background it is the function of the network management to guarantee viability of the networked enterprise in terms of the sustainable success of the collaborative business. The answer to this question is provided through the elaboration of an integrated framework as a frame of reference for a network manager being in charge of creating, controlling and adapting a network. The integrated management concept supports the network manager in gaining a differentiated and thorough notion of the system under control and thus helps him avoid simplistic and unilateral actions. The argumentation of this thesis follows the principle of the Conant-Ashby theoreme as well as the cybernetical view of Stafford Beer’s viable system model. In the first two chapters the basic background definitions and state of the art definitions of network and collaboration management are presentet. In chapter three the role and characteristics of modelling and models are outlined and currently available enterprise models are discussed. In chapter four the requirements of an integrated management concept for collaborations are collected. In chapter five the constituting dimensions of collaboration management are depicted and the field of action for a comprehensive network management are presented and specified. Finally, in chapter six a number of case studies aim at proving the applicability of the framework.
