Untersuchung von 4-Wirbelsystemen zur Minimierung von Wirbelschleppen und ihre Realisierung an Transportflugzeugen
Abstract
dc:descriptionA numerical approach for assessing the potential of 4-vortex wakes concerning an alleviation of the wake vortex hazard is presented. The first step of the numerical approach comprises the systematic investigation of 4-vortex topologies representing generic farfield vortex wakes. Once a configuration with minimum induced rolling moment is determined in a second step an airliner model configuration is modified using simple design methods in order to produce a 4-vortex wake similar to the afore found optimal 4-vortex topology. Its realizability is proven by simulation of the nearfield and extended nearfield wake of the modified airliner configuration. A maximum rolling moment reduction of approximately 50% compared to a 2-vortex reference configuration is obtained for a 4-vortex system with a circulation ratio of Gamma_2/Gamma_1=-0.35 and a spacing ratio of b_2/b_1=0.35. For the DLR-F11 it is shown that it is feasible to produce this specific vortex topology in the nearfield by modifying the airliner configuration.
