Thickness effects on fracture mechanical parameters for dynamically loaded three-dimensional elastic-plastic solids with material interfaces and cracks are considered. The corresponding system of hyperbolic partial differential equations is numerically solved with an explicit finite volume scheme. The implementation of absorbing boundary conditions, interface conditions and contact with friction is described.
